Guidelines for Extra Credit Paper

Note: The total extra
credit allowed for the course is 9 points, so if you have done other activities
for extra credit, you won’t be allowed to exceed 9 points.

There are 2 options:
You
may present evidence to support or refute a controversial issue in clinical abnormal psychology. You are to research the issue and summarize
an empirical research article (i.e., data were collected and analyzed), to
support the perspective you choose. Write a 2-3 page paper that summarizes
the article and explains how it addresses the issue. You will be graded on
the both the quality of your evidence and the quality of your
argumentative presentation. Note: Wikipedia is not an acceptable source.
The article must be from a psychology journal. You must submit a copy of
the article along with the paper.

Extensive Clinical Case Study: You
may summarize a case study of an individual with a serious mental
disorder. The case study should be based on a biography of the person. You
are required to write a 2-3 page summary of the case that illustrates the
diagnostic criteria for the disorder and describes the development and
course of the disorder for the individual. You must also report the source
of your information. Note: Wikipedia is not an acceptable source.
